About This Song

In the late hours of the night, with only the glow of the laptop screens and a cup of coffee apiece, we set about making Tapory Trap Drums. The concept is straightforward enough: make something really hard, punchy, aggressive and high-energy.

The process was mostly us testing some Tapori beat ideas against layered trap-style 808s (which are the kick and snare sometimes used in trap music) and some electronic percussion. There were a couple of sections that might have felt like they were going to be a bit off at first, but that late-night collaborative spirit of improvisation and laughs, worked the issues out organically and became part of the personality of the track.

By the time it was morning we had a beat that honestly felt like it had a heartbeat—perfect for moving in some way on a dance floor, or as part of a energetic playlist. Tapory Trap Drums was, and still is, a track—but more, it was a nice experience telling a late-night story of creativity, collaboration, and just fun making music.
