About This Song

It was a sunny afternoon when me and one of my friends got together to work on something for the local roadshows. We wanted a beat that was authentic and organic, full of energy and ready to get a crowd moving. Thus, Roadshow Drums Original was born.

We set up drum pads, the laptop, and a few classic percussion instruments. While I tapped out a rough Teenmaar pattern, my friend started playing around with variations, including different fills and syncopations. It sounded fairly simple in the beginning, almost bland to us, but as we started to build up different sections, and added a touch of bass, the groove came to life.

There were moments when mistakes turned into tasteful surprises—like a hit on the snare that was impulsive or an offbeat percussion pattern that worked beautifully with the groove. We laughed and simply went with it. The process was full of playfulness, we adjusted tempo, volume, and effects until it felt right.

By the end of the session, Roadshow Drums Original had emerged: a driving, rhythmic tune that preserved an essence of traditional roadshow while also feeling refined enough for the modern listener. Each time we play it, we are reminded why we love making music.
